About Me
Jun Li graduated with her Master of Science degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice at California State University, Long Beach. She completed her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice at California State University, Fullerton with a communication studies minor, and her associate degree in administration of justice at East Los Angeles College. Jun’s research interests are human trafficking, violence against sex workers, and public perception of law enforcement. Also, Jun delivered a talk at the TEDxCSULB 2022 conference entitled “Becoming Jun through SARA,” in which she shared the story of how she derive inspiration from problem-oriented policing, including the SARA model to conquer her fear of public speaking, deal with stereotypes, and make her dream one step closer.
Jun is an international student from China and has been in the United States to pursue her dream since she was sixteen. Her passion for criminology and criminal justice derives from her family in China. Many of her extended family work in law enforcement combating problems such as drug trafficking, homicide, and burglary. Her childhood dream was to become a “shero” to stop violence and crime, and fulfill her family’s legacy, but now, her wish is to become an inspiration for Asian women in academia and the field of criminology and criminal justice.
